The best part of design tools is they let you duplicate layers/elements with a click of a button. If you’re new to Figma, this guide will help you duplicate layers and files through a simple demonstration to get you all covered.

Duplicate Layers in Figma

  1. Open Figma on your browser and sign in to your Figma account, or create a new one if needed. After you have successfully signed in, open an existing design from Recents or create a new one through the Design file button.

  1. For demonstration, we have added a Frame featuring an image. Next, select it by clicking on it. Next, navigate to the top left corner of the toolbar and click on the Figma icon.

  1. Now, from the options that are displayed, click on Edit and then Duplicate to duplicate the selected layer.

Pro Tip: You can also duplicate layers by selecting them and using the Ctrl + D (Windows) or Cmd + D (macOS) key combinations.

  1. After you create a new design or open a new file, navigate to the toolbar to find the file name.
